Your accusation is completely unfounded and is yet another example of people trying to tear a successful man down because he chooses to devote himself to the betterment of our city over personal distractions. We are the beneficiaries of Mike McMillan’s efforts, and owe him a great debt of gratitude and all the support that we can muster for his future endeavors. This city has no greater friend than that we find in Mike McMillan.
Antonio:
Marlene Davis, while openly addressing her desire to continue Mike McMillan’s work in the 19th and attempt to fill his giant shoes, has been nothing but respectful toward the constituents of the 19th and Mr. McMillan as he transitions to his new office. She has not exhibited the “my turn” behavior that you attempt to portray in your humor.
Mike won’t be too happy that you brought Rita into this. Go ahead and make fun of political figures in your “funnies,” but leave their family members alone.
You’re wrong on this one Travis. Mike’s a big boy, he has to learn to live like the big boys do.
Everyone in his family, including Rita, and all that Mike does now can be plastered across the papers, the television news and the blogs.
Stop making excuses for him like so many have done for so long and let him grow up like every other politian. How hard can his life be? The guy has a high school education and is about to be License Collector. Mike’s getting what he wanted. Let him enjoy it.
To Anon #9–who are all of the people who have been making excuses for him for so long and not allowing him to grow up like every other politician? I can’t think of anyone who fits into that category.
You are incorrect about his education as well. He has a degree from SLU in African American studies and Political Science.
“It is horrible when good people devote themselves to doing good for others, only to be targeted for ridicule by the beneficiaries of their good works.”
Do you mean McMillan? Antonio? Claire McCaskill? Callow? Yourself?
I do hope that you realize Antonio’s comics are not meant literally — that’s the point!

Is that an apology, Travis? If so, I accept.

Antonio:
Blah, Blah, to all the haters, naysayers, and suck-ups to the insensitive status-quo.
This is funny. A crisp ‘break’ from the monotony.
Dave Drebes is such a cool up-beat person I’m sure no harm was done.
That one on Marlene Davis…simply marvelous! You captured the essence of 19th Ward politics.
Give us more, Antonio.

Hey, does anyone know who that deep caramel-complexioned beauty is standing beside Dave Drebes?
