Congratulations to Lewis Reed on another victory. Reed is running a hell of a race. I saw his picture in the St. Louis American today with elected officials from all over of the City. I am voting for Lewis. Where can I go to volunteer and donate money?

His downtown campaign office is at the corner of Tucker and Locust.

Right in the campaign office where you are sitting now.

Yes, hello I am a white moderate voter from the South Side. I would love to vote for Louis Read. He is a wonderful leader, etc.

HAHAHAH! How stupid is this fake blog stuff done by the campaigns?!

I can guarantee this isn’t fake: I can’t wait to vote Shrewsbury’s two-faced ass out of office.

    Antonio-

What is going on in the 21st ward? Word is Bennice Jones King is going to endorse Shrewsbury. Is she trying to commit political suicide?

I heard that Chink Washington won’t let Bennice Jones-King support Reed. That he has told her she has to support that racist Shrewsbury. Yes I said Racist, I remember that commercial he ran portraying Virvus as a black dog.

Clarifying the record, it was pointed out to me that it was ungracious of me to comment that the food was better at Shrewsbury’s fundraiser, considering that part of the cost of my admission to Reed’s was comped by a friend (even though my cash contribution to both fundraisers was about equal), when I attended both fundraisers last Saturday. So I wanted to apologize if I offended. I went to Jim’s first, so maybe I was just full when I got to Lewis’s. But mostly it was meant to be light-hearted and not intended to offend. I actually think I was trying to make Jim feel good because his was a relatively simple fundraiser, though in a nice venue, and Lewis’s was fairly impressive and glitzy in the wonderful Field School Lofts. Hope my apology is accepted. My goal in this race is to make no enemies. And after elected, lots of friends. But I am looking forward to taking strong stands on important issues.

  10. Doug Duckworth Says:

Racism is discrimination, regardless of intent, solely based upon race. As April Harris is working for Jim, I think its pretty clear he is not discriminatory. He also balanced the chair’s between black and white.

Regarding Virvus, that was before my time. What I do know is that he went to jail for tax evasion. Did race play a role, I have no idea. What I see now on both sides is at least officially no hints of race, meaning either campaign does not seem to be directly making it an issue. De facto there could be people spreading “rumors” yet I don’t think its Jim personally. In fact someone supporting Lewis could be doing that in order to paint Jim as racist. That would be a more effective method.

I don’t vote based upon anything but record and campaign finance reports. The candidate could be a gay biracial wiccan and it wouldn’t matter to me.
