The Carpenters’ District Council has endorsed Aldermanic President Jim Shrewsbury.

“As the group that represents the lion’s share of union-organized City employees, the Carpenters understand the issues affecting city government better than anyone. I have always valued their support in the past and once again I am grateful to have the Carpenters in my corner,” said Shrewsbury in a press release.

Shrewsbury is running against Alderman Lewis Reed in the March 6th primary election, just 13 days away.

*Reed is a client of A D French & Associates

This is an interesting endorsement and shows how cozy Shrewsbury is with city employees.

Where do most city employees live?
In deep south or southwest city.

Back to the question: what is Shrewsbury’s base?

Let’s add city employees to the list.

The carpenters have also endorsed Ms. Star Triplett. Can it be said that labor is banking on these two candidates.

The Carpenters Union is not the only group to endorse Jim Shrewsbury, the Comptroller Darlene Green has also endorsed Jim Shrewsbury behind closed doors.

That is why Darlene Green is on the top of Jim Shrewsbury’s website, and she has not asked that it be removed.

Darlene Green is hiding behind the BJC park issue to take attention away from her endorsement of Jim Shrewsbury, and this is the second time that she has gone against the endorsement of the Black Caucus on an issue.

The real question is what other black politicians are cowardly endorsing Jim Shrewsbury behind closed doors. If they have not spoken up by now, then they are probably endorsing Jim Shrewsbury. For those black politicians that could not make a decision in this election, black people will make a decision in theirs.

Didn’t the retired city employees endorse Lewis Reed? And, didn’t the Firefighters endorse him too? What about the Aldermen? I counted 17 endorsing Reed–an overwhelming majority. It looks to me that those that work with the President of the Board of Aldermen are supporting Reed in this race, not the incumbant.

how can mr or mrs anonymous know what darlene green has done behind “closed doors”? anyone can make-up lies and rumors. last i read was darlene green was not taking a side in this race but i heard (my turn for rumors) that she was working on the whole bjc deal just to steal shrewsbury’s thunder. but you know how rumors go…

Well Darlene Green put the last nail in Jim Shrewsbury’s coffin today with that vote for the BJC deal. She obviously does NOT support him.
