Ike Turner was one great musician, although all the news reports concentrate on his abuse of Tina Turner. There would be no Tina Turner without the strong hand of Ike. He had to use a strong hand to motivate Tina to perform at the level she was capable of attaining.

    Big Upps to Ike Turner!

I link Chuck Berry, Ike Turner and Curt Flood together—maybe that is wrong—-talented and significant pioneers—who will never be properly honored in St. Louis. Even when Chuck was being honored at Washington D.C.—a pd writer managed to make enough noise about Keith Richards’ lawyers to drown it out.

Now they talk about “humps”, but Ike was more a “lumps” kinda dude.

A lot of musicians are still around who worked with Ike. You should poll them asking this question—-between Ike and Tina, which one was more frightening to you when you worked with them?

    Tina: (crying) “Ike, I’m sorry”

Ike: “Oh, You Sho’ sorry!” (slap)

Tina did raise Ike’s son and did make a better life after abuse she received. Ike did it to himself with his actions. Tina made a better life thru chanting and becoming a Buddhist..What’s Love Got To Do With It Just aska Woman…

“Tina hasn’t said a word publicly, but her agent, Michele Schweitzer issued this statement to the curious media: “Tina is aware that Ike passed away. She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made.”

He is now where he knows for sure that “ain’t no way to treat a lady.” Who sang that?
