Great chutzpah by Clinton—speaking in a black church about how inspired she was by Martin Luther King as a teenager—shortly before she signed up to campaign for barry Goldwater to oppose Lyndon Johnson—Goldwater was one of six republican senators to oppose the civil rights bill.

Ugh. Thousands of people came out to see her at McCluer North, my old high school—and the maybe a thousand of us who actually got into the gym ended up sitting for two hours before the Clintons even showed. The promised two-hour “town hall meeting” ended up being a mere 45-minute stump speech, with Bill introducing Hillary by hammering again on that “CEO leadership” line from the Nevada debate. Lame.
