St. Louis

St. Louis Public Schools Superintendent Diana Bourisaw will hold a news conference today at 1 p.m. to address the district’s new superintendent search. A few moments ago, she released this statement:

Good morning,

By now you have heard that the SAB will be conducting a superintendent search. I respect their decision and have chosen not to apply for the position. While I initially accepted this position as an interim superintendent, I have grown to love this district – the children, family, staff and community. I have learned from the quality, commitment and care that is given by staff, and to love the beautiful souls of our children.

During these next few months I assure you that I will remain focused on the needs of the district and our children. I will continue to support you in your efforts to improve teaching and learning for our students. You deserve no less.

Diana M. Bourisaw, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools

The news conference will be held in Room 108 at Central Office, 801 N. 11th Street.

Ibuxx made a post about the charter school at 4300 goodfellow. I do not know if it was a joke.

It sounded like Bourisaw was right in telling the state board not to bring in texas can.

I hope someone asks her if a major reason for her termination is tied to her not being on the same page as the sab regarding charter schools.

For the first time in a few decades; the district had a Superintendent who ACTUALLY knew what she was doing. MAKE NO MISTAKE; BOURISAW WAS AXED BECAUSE SHE KNEW TOO MUCH ABOUT HOW SCHOOLS SHOULD BE RUN, AND CONSEQUENTLY COULD REPORT HOW FRAUDULENT MANY OF THESE CHARTERS (ESPECIALLY TEXAS CAN) REALLY ARE. THE POWERS BEHING SULLIVAN, AND TEACH FOR AMERICA, ETC. ARE REALLY MULTINATIONAL AND NATIONAL CORPORATE ENTITIES. STATE FARM INSURANCE IS ONE OF THOSE ENTITIES. ACCORDING TO SUSAN OHANIAN IN HER BOOK: WHY IS CORPORATE AMERICA DESTROYING OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS; STATE FARM CEO ED RUST IS ONE OF THE BUSH SUPPORTERS BEHIN NCLB AND FOR PROFIT CHARTERS. VERONICA OBRIEN IS A STATE FARM AGENT IN CLAYTON. ONE WAY WE CAN HURT THESE PRIVATISERS IS BY INSTITUTING A BOYCOTT OF STATE FARM INSURANCE. ANY TEACHERS CAN QUALIFY FOR BETTER INSURANCE THROUGH CALIFORNIA CASUALTY WITH AN NEA MEMBERSHIP. THESE PEOPLE ONLY SEE MONEY; THEY DON’T CARE AWHIT ABOUT OUR KIDS.
