I hope and pray that the future of the St. Louis Public Schools is inclusive of our childrens needs.

Just another example of the local and state politicians raping what’s left of public education for children of color. First we lose our right to elect a public school board and get this Neo-nazi committee of three. It just so happens that the person in charge, Mr. Sullivan, runs McBride and Sons; the very group abusing eminent domain, pushing lower income people out of the neighborhoods for upscale yuppies playing the ’slumming’ game. I read that Sullivan has a ‘real estate’ committee established. Is he planning on stealing these older buildings and transforming them into lofts, all on the public dollar? In any other state; this would be grounds to institute RICO investigations and prosecutions (Racketeering laws); but here in St. Louis, MO.–it’s ‘business as usual.’ I guess we’re supposed to send our kids to a charter school. I did that earlier this year, and now my kids are back in the public schools. The charter had teachers that were barely adults themselves. I don’t think I saw a single teacher over the age of 27. Isn’t that age discrimination? Apparently, my kids don’t deserve EXPERIENCED TEACHERS, NOT TEACH FOR AMERICA. HOW DOES SOMEONE WITH A BACKGROUND IN DANCE THINK THEY WILL ADEQUATELY TEACH KIDS HOW TO READ? I did some checking on this Teach for America. It started under Bill Clinton. THe candidates do not have to have teaching licenses; they are ‘talented recent college graduates.’ So, my kids get someone who is barely a student teacher, but kids in Rockwood get real teachers with experience. I guess this is what Slay calls ‘progress.’ I call it FRAUD.

Julie–which charter school were your children enrolled in? Is there an address for it?

  4. John Doe Says:

    kjoe,

Stop worrying about ‘outing’ Julie’s kids. By the way WHAT’S YOUR REAL NAME?!!!!

    John
