From the Harris campaign:
Jeff Harris Endorsed by St. Louis Treasurer Larry Williams
Columbia, MO — In a state wide race that’s getting hotter by the minute, Jeff Harris picked up the endorsement of St. Louis Treasurer Larry Williams. Williams, who has been Treasurer since 1981, is one of the longest serving and most popular St. Louis City elected officials.
In announcing his endorsement of Jeff Harris for Attorney General, Larry Williams said, “As a life-long Democrat, I can tell you that Jeff Harris is the real Democrat that can win in November. Jeff Harris has emerged as a true leader for our party. He proved that when he was the Democratic leader in the Missouri House — standing up for the working families in this State in opposition to Matt Blunt and the Republican agenda. Missouri needs Jeff Harris and will be well-served by Jeff Harris when he becomes Attorney General.”
Jeff Harris said today that he was proud to have the support of Larry Williams. “I intend to tap into Larry’s expertise in city government and will seek his guidance throughout my campaign for Attorney General”, said Harris.
Harris, who has built a reputation of being tough, but fair on crime, continued, “Having served as an assistant Attorney General and state legislator, I know that tough laws and aggressive law enforcement must work hand and hand to keep Missourians safe in their communities. As Attorney General, I will develop new initiatives to tackle crime on the streets and to crack down on Internet predators.”
A native Missourian, Jeff Harris has represented part of his hometown of Columbia in the Missouri House since 2002. Jeff is a Democratic candidate for Attorney General.
