I think predict and “calls for” are two different things. I also think you demean any sense of objectivity you hope to present by using a socialist shill like Olbermann as a source. He never twists anything, does he? While I generally agree with Limbaugh, I don’t like his self-aggrandizing style. I don’t listen to him. I also don’t listen to “Air America” the place of employment of the other opinion. I love Rachel Maddow, who is not a lawyer, giving legal opinions with a straight face. The possibility of Limbaugh’s geriatric audience showing up in the Denver streets like Chicago ‘68 is absurd. If this website is getting subsidized by KETC, I certainly hope it doesn’t start taking a liberal, one-sided slant. If it does, I will certainly expect KETC to fund a similar website with the opposing views. Your headline writer needs a dose of neutrality.
flyover, you are a real piece of work. Rush said he was dreaming of riots in Denver and said “that’s the best damn thing that can happen to this country, as far as I can think.” He said, “The dream end of this is that this keeps up to the convention and we have a replay of Chicago 1968 with burning cars, protests, fires, literal riots, and all of that. That’s that’s the objective here.”
So Rush is dreaming of riots happening, “the best thing that could happen to America,” and talking about the objective of starting riots. But clearly he doesn’t want riots in Denver, he’s just predicting them. Yeah, right.
Riots would further the cause of dividing and weakening the democrat party.
Since Rush makes a living speaking to primarily republicans he has fun making such suggestions. I know of no democrat that would riot because rush says so. He takes additional pleasure in creating stir in the media.
Anyone who thinks Democrats will riot based on instructions from Rush Limbaugh isn’t paying attention. If there are riots, which I doubt, it will be because liberal hate mongers will incite them. I think the worst thing that happens is some Democrats don’t vote. Where is the link to Al Sharpton’s threats to “close down” NYC? He wasn’t dreaming about it, he’s threatening it.
Thank you for recognizing that I am a piece of work. I do work very hard. I am a product of hard work. I also intend to work very hard to ensure that drivel attributed to the likes of Olbermann is challenged.
Democrats won’t listen to Rush, but his dittoheads will. And it doesn’t take thousands to start a riot. In a crowded area around the convention center, 30 or 40 could cause enough mayhem to get the images Rush wants on national TV. It would cost injuries, property damage, and probably lives, but for Rush, that would be worth it to keep the Democrats out of the White House.
Many of Limbaugh’s listeners are gullible sheep that are brain dead to agree with most of the foolishness that comes out of that limp penised drug addict’s mouth!
Thanks, Clark. You fit the typical left-wing, Soros influenced fringe who cannot comment on another’s dissenting opinion without attacking that person.
To make it simple for you, I don’t care if you run the story here. I objected to the headline, which was misleading. I also object if this site is supposed to be a left-wing support system if it is being subsidized by KETC.
I’m not the one twisting myself into rhetorical pretzels trying to defend the plain language of Rush Limbaugh calling for riots at the Democratic Convention.
By the way, calling people who disagree with you socialists and “Soros influenced” is both ad hominem and a clear identifier of a fringe right winger.
You may miss the point as many times as you wish. I thought you enjoyed ad hominem, you have used it in every post. I am invoking the Jim White rule: “never teach a pig to sing, it is a waste of time and irritates the pig.” I’m done.
Roseanne Barr calls for DNC “trouble”

Just days after conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh came under fire for “dreaming of riots in Denver,” another national talk show host issued a call for “trouble” at the Democratic National Convention — this time from the liberal side.
Roseanne Barr, guest host for “American Afternoon” on Air America Radio, told her listeners on Monday to “hop on buses for Denver” and “cause a bunch of trouble.”
“We should, a bunch of us, go there and repeat the Democratic Convention from Chicago,” Barr said, referring to the 1968 convention that resulted in rioting.
AM 760, which carries the Air America programming for Denver, stopped carrying “American Afternoon” when host Randi Rhodes left for a new program on April 10, said Kris Olinger, director of AM programming for Clear Channel Denver. Representatives from Air America could not be reached for comment. Jenel Stelton-Holtmeier, The Denver Post
Rush Limbaugh is not the only calling for violence at the convention.
On April 23rd, at 9:17 A.M. In the blog entry entitled Low Road to Victory, Antonio French wrote:
“You mean the Michigan election which had only one candidate’s name on the ballot? And the Florida election in which candidates were barred from campaigning in?
If some back room deal denies the man with more votes and more wins the nomination, expect violence at the convention.”
Barr is a nitwit, too. And I say this without knowing the context of this latest statement. She’s been ludicrous enough in the past that she doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt. If anyone has evidence that this was merely sarcastic, or quoting someone else, let’s hear it.
Antonio was not calling for riots. He merely expressed what the frustration would be like if the leading votegetter was robbed of the nomination by insiders.
Rush, on the other hand, was clearly calling for riots in Denver as the best thing that could happen for America.

“Piece of work” is being polite.
