Campaign Literature Looks Like Funeral Program

St. Louis City Treasurer Larry Williams is very likely on his way to his seventh term as the czar of city parking, so it is understandable that he, being the responsible financial stalwart that he is, wouldn’t want to spend too much on campaign literature. But Williams’ latest campaign handout has left more than a few people unnecessarily worried about the welfare of our fair treasurer.

“Who died?” asked one person who saw the piece on my desk.

The front of the four-page campaign brochure looks eerily like a funeral program.

  2. That funeral type campaign literature would be more appropriate in defining the many failed steps of that damn Slay such as the fiasco with SLPS brought about by his meddling, the Ballpark Village fiasco, the Fire Department fiasco, his Pyramid/John Steffens development fiasco, his recall, his silence on the missing money from the evidence room at Police Headquarters (imagine how he would attack a black police chief in charge if this happened under his watch),his silence on the misrepresented crime statistics under Mokwa’s watch and too many more missteps to comment on!

  3. Funny, I don’t think it is a funeral announcement. It looks to me to be a statement of the Treasurer’s accomplishments, albeit rudimentary. It tells his story, provides some photos of his projects and has a campaign disclaimer.

Campaign literature can be a waste of resources, by the way have you seen his opponent’s? It is a very laughable piece at best and says nothing. He also failed to provide a disclaimer as to who paid for it. Isn’t that a violation of the state ethics codes?

Personally, I think the Treasurer’s candidacy is stronger than ever. I haven’t seen his opponent anywhere or doing anything except eating dinner with his friends at Chevy’s and talking about where in the world he has been. Perhaps he should contact the Today Show to become a replacement for Matt Lauer. Where in the World is Dan Schesch? Even he doesn’t know.

  4. Hilarious, I said the same thing to someone a couple of weeks ago when I saw it sitting in their car.

  6. I have to admit that does look a little crazy. He or his best buddy Mr. Boussard couldn’t spice that up a little by just adding the picture to the right or left. They might as well start using Windows 95 clip art if they want to go cheap.

    WHAT WAS HE THINKING
