    Jealousy is a bitch!

  2. Douglas Duckworth Says:

He was talking down to Black People. Obama sounded like a Republican or perhaps Bill Cosby. Blaming the individual rather than perhaps the prison industrial complex or the war on drugs.

I don’t understand why any excuse is valid for not taking care of your children? My grandfather came here in the late 1890’s and was not allowed to attend school because he didn’t speak English, even thogh he spoke eight other languages. He was condemned at 12 to work twelve hour days, six days a week in the coal mines for very little money. I spoke to my 95 year old aunt the other day about him and she said no matter how tough times were, he always made sure his kids had food to eat. She said he would work all day in the mines and when times were really bad he would even bring his lunch home uneaten so the kids could have something to eat. He was discriminated against in many ways. Coal miners were taken advantage of by the mine owners and their thugs, their unions and the government. I would say he had it tougher than anyone does today. But he never let any of that get in the way of his obligation to his kids. By the way, he lived in Buxton, Iowa, the location of one of the few mines that hired black coal miners http://www.blackpast.org/?q=aah/buxton-iowa-1895-1927 My aunt said the blacks were not allowed in the main part of town and built their own community that was very vibrant. She said they would have frequent musical shows come to town and the town would not allow the performers to stay inside the city limits, but my grandfather, who was an accomplished muscian himself, always made room for them at his house. I agree with Obama and Bill Cosby. There are always reasons why things aren’t perfect, but none of those reasons are an excuse not to support your kids. I volunteer with a charity that helps low income people find housing in North St. Louis. Of the almost fifty families we have helped, all are black, there is one father among the group. Every residence has an unmarried male living in the house. It is very difficult for me to subsidize this behavior. I am told by the man who runs the charity that “its just a cultural thing” and we can’t let that get in the way of our mission. In spite of my distaste for helping sanction these unwed relationships, I do it because those kids still need some place to live. If Obama wins and changes that culture, it will be worth higher taxes for four years.

“It is very difficult for me to subsidize this behavior”

Yet you fund the war on drugs and prisons? These institutions and practices are responsible for single parent households.

I think Rev. Jackson is jealous of Mr. Obama and he demonstrates this by, at times, referring to Barack Obama in lwhat I consider to be ’semi-racist;’ he almost seems to deride Obama for appealing to white people.

I only found out this morning that Jackson’s son is part of the Obama campaign.

I swear Jesse “I can’t stand to be out of the spotlight” Jackson works my last damn nerve. I don’t understand how a man that once tried to represent and uplift the black community can be the same man who will try to destroy it if it helps him make a little money and stay in the spotlight. I guess I should be use to it by now, from him and the locals who act just like him. You know B.T. “if it makes money I’m in” Rice, Harold “I speak for all black people but don’t know a damn thing” Crumpton, Earl “Mr. Sneaky” Nance, and the rest of these sorry excuse for a black community leader men we have rolling around this city trying to speak for all black people but who are so disconnected with the real community that all of their words hold no weight but still manage to help them sink!

Sorry but I needed to get that out

  7. flyover Says:

You have obviously confused me with Congress. I am compelled to pay taxes under penalty of prison. I am getting old, but I don’t remember anyone calling me up and asking my opinion on drugs or prisons. What is paid out of my pocket is what I subsidize personally and I have to answer for that.

  8. flyover Says:

Since posting that I received this. It is an interview with Harry Reid who says taxation is not coerced, but voluntary.

I dare say, it’s all rather inappropriate, don’t you think? These men of inferior character are the very reason I gave my television to a child I saw on the street last week.

  10. flyover Says:

If you are trying to make excuses for them not supporting their kids, no I don’t. It is time we stop worrying about offending people and point out the obvious. Anyway, giving a kid a television without cable isn’t a very big deal.

  11. Revolution Says:

It’s a shame that for a man that had ran with Dr. Martin Luther King, that he would stoop to that level. I know that Dr. King is rolling over in his grave right about now. I don’t know what Jesse has done for the black community since Dr. King has passed, but evidently it hasn’t been much. I say that because with all the incidents that has been going on in our black community, I haven’t seen protesting or even speak on the issues once, but he can find a way to shoot down Barack Obamaon Fox news. Now let me help u remember whats going on in our black community, remember the Sean Bell incident in New York and even the Katrina issue (is he still pushing the issue?). Jesse Jackson is the protype we do not wanna be like as a black leader.

    Go Barack!!!!

  12. notalacyfan Says:

NObama hasn’t done ANYTHING in the AA community but ask AAs to vote for him because he’s black! MLK would not support NObama because his dream was not to select the first black POTUS, but to ensure fairness for all people! NObama sat in the pews and paid to hear divisive sermons for more than 20 years. This is not the content of a person’s character that I would want my children to admire, NObama, Just Say NO Deal, PUMA!
