Obama-Biden. I Like the Sound of That.
Barack Obama’s campaign announced to the world at 2:00 in the morning, and by text message, that Senator Joe Biden is Obama’s pick for Vice-President. It was a great choice.
Joe Biden offers the best possible defense for John McCain and the Republican’s patriarchal (and patronizing) “Son, let me tell you how the world really is” offense. Biden can go toe-to-toe with any living American on the subject of foreign policy.
But even more important for the Obama campaign than national security, Joe Biden brings a sense of security to the millions of older, white voters who still aren’t sure about Obama. In that sense the selection of Biden is not unlike George W. Bush’s selection of Dick Cheney. Biden, like Cheney, won’t deliver any large, electoral-rich states, but he does reassure Americans who are worried about Obama’s lack of years in national politics that there will be someone in the White House who has been around a long time, who does know how Washington and the world works (that unfortunately did not actually work out to be the case in Cheney’s instance, but it did get them elected — twice). Biden fills the old white guy requirement to a tee.
Biden also fills another role, much needed in the Obama camp: that of “the attacker”. Biden can answer the McCain national defense attacks like no one else. Biden can exploit, in a way that the Obama campaign has not yet, McCain’s huge weakness, which is his continuing support of the unpopular Iraq War.
So Obama-Biden it is. It’s going to make for a great convention next week in Denver. Be sure to keep with PubDef.net all week long as we report LIVE from the Democratic National Convention as only we can.

I am getting the popcorn machine tuned up to watch the Hillary crowd at the convention. While I have always liked Biden’s style (experienced, older guy from humble roots who says whatever comes into his mind) I think this shows Obama believes his own BS so much that he thinks he can disrespect the Hill crowd and still win. Biden should send a box of candy to Vlad Putin for this one. Meanwhile it will be hard to see a difference between Hillary and a U-Boat commander as she clandestinely attempts to torpedo Obama’s chances, knowing McCain will be 76 at the end of his first term and will probably ride into the sunset then giving her “her rightful place in history”. Nobody shoots torpedoes like the Clintons.

Not impressed. Two men, just like always. Hillary doesn’t have to do a darn thing to torpedo Obama. The independent women who supported her because she would make a great president are perfectly capable of disapproving of the Democrats’ choices here without someone telling us whether we should or not. In fact, I think Hillary is smart enough to know not to try to mollify us, as though we will just do whatever she asks. She wouldn’t be led by the nose, and we won’t either.

A year ago, the centrist establishment media had proclaimed that we would have a Hillary-Giuliani race for 2008. Same old, same old. Another Clinton, another incoherent republican who had enough free passes from the media to get by.
Then they both ran into Joe Biden. Hillary was made to look foolish for criticizing Obama regarding actionable intelligence on Pakistan—by Biden, who said “we are all entitled to our own opinions but not our own set of facts.
Hillary never did figure out just what we were dealing with in Musharrof.
Biden slammed Giuliani for his noun verb 911 answers to everything—he was the one who first characterized him that way. He demolished Giuliani in 23 seconds on national tv, just talking to a reporter while walking to his car.

Biden saved us from the centrist establishment press’s fond dream of a Giuliani-Hillary contest—same old, same old. A clinton and an incoherent badly informed republican. With Hillary, it was Pakistan—with Giuliani it was his characterization of Rudy as the noun, verb, 911 guy. U-tube has a 23 second clip where Biden demolishes Giuliani on national tv while walking to his car.
Biden changed the playing field in this election as a minor candidate. He is about to be unleashed on McCain’s phony aura of expertise. I cannot wait.

I am living on the planet where John McCain told his lobbyist friend’s major client, the president of Georgia, that you and I and every other American is a Georgian.
On this planet, I heard McCain agree with a woman regarding reenacting the draft, but just because he said it, does not mean he really meant it.
I live in a place where McCain is still called a Maverick by the media, even though all the positions he took 8 years ago to earn that description—have been changed—because he is afraid of the right wing of his party.

The fact that you heard it implies your planet is not earth. What dirt have you heard about Obama, except on Fox? MSM in the tank for Obama.

NObama-Biden, how befitting, two plagiarists. So much for the Campaign of Change, turning the page on the Washington establishment, status quo! Some really bought that pipe dream that the MSM kool-aid drinkers and Clinton traitors sold, and selected the most inexperienced candidate!
NObama-Biden is Bush-Cheney third term! NObama has already introduced Biden as the next President!

Keep an eye on the Rasmussen daily tracking of very favorable—very unfavorable ratings of McCain and Obama. People do not know much about McCain. (His 19-20 deficit will change with Biden defining him). Obama increased to 34-28, the highest it has been for several weeks. It will be followed by an increase in the hard numbers. Thanks, in part, to some hesitant Hillary supporters (not the elitist puma types) starting to pay attention and grasp the realities of the basic differences between democrats and republicans.

McCain is defined by his convictions of which NObama has none; unless you count, William Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko, etc.!

McCain was never a “maverick.” Read his voting record, and you’ll see the odd vote against his party — when the GOP is way on the wrong side of public opinion. McCain “breaks” from his party when it’s easy, and sticks with it when it’s even easier. He’s been running for president for years, hoping the big press he gets from a handful of contrarian stances will mask his anti-choice, belligerent, pro-corporate right-wing voting record.

And now he learns how unfair the press is. They’ve dumped him for an inexperienced left wing rookie. The only one more surprised at being thrown under the bus by the media was Hillary.

The press, especially Clinton Network cnn, is obsessed with reporting all Clinton mistreatment, all the time.
their 47 -47 poll results—ained at discrediting Biden being picked for vp—dishonestly reported, and rigged. And contradicted by several other polls—including republican rasmussen. Read the actual numbers.
