Talk About an Energy Crisis
ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA — The line at one of the few working gas stations in St. Francisville, Louisiana is a half mile long.
“Cash Only. $50 Limit,” reads the orange letters spray-painted in a piece of plywood in front of the Mobil station. Two sheriff cars sit with flashing lights to maintain order.
The parish, or county, in which this town is located is one of the few in Louisiana still almost completely without power.
Missouri National Guardsmen will be spending the day clearing debris to make way for power company trucks and workers to go about trying to restore power. But officials here warn that with so many power lines down in St. Francisville, power probably won’t be returning soon.
