VIDEOS: John McCain’s Missouri Visit
John McCain was in St. Charles yesterday at a rally of a few hundred supporters. He later traveled to Columbia. Here are a few videos from the events by Post-Dispatch media reporter Adam Jadhav and Columbia Tribune reporter Jason Rosenbaum.

After the Kirkwood event, McCain headed to Columbia, MO:
Earlier Story:
Republican Presidential candidate John McCain will be in St. Charles Monday speaking to a crowd of supporters. McCain’s appearance comes just two days after his opponent drew the largest crowds in state history. Combined, more than 175,000 people showed up to see Barack Obama at two events yesterday.
As he has done many times over the course of the campaign, Obama yesterday linked McCain to the unpopular administration of President George W. Bush, an association McCain has been trying to shake. But that may be harder for McCain to do tomorrow because one of the least popular figures in the White House, Vice President Dick Cheney, is also visiting Missouri tomorrow.
Cheney will be speaking at a private reception for Republican Congressional candidate Blaine Luetkemeyer in the afternoon before heading to Cape Girardeau to speak at a fundraiser for Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder.
Obama will have one his best-known surrogates in St. Louis tomorrow too. President Bill Clinton will be in Kirkwood tomorrow evening.

daily kos is claiming ksdk reported McCain’s people dragging the flag through the dirt. Maybe MO is not one of those patriotic places they have been talking about.
McCain-land Drags American Flag On The Ground

Remember John McCain’s false flag smear?
At the conclusion of the DNC, McCain campaign blogger Michael Goldfarb spread a false story claiming that McCain-land had “rescued flags” from Democratic mistreatment. FOX dutifully reported the smear:
Democrats are not caring for their Stars and Stripes. At least that’s the message out of John McCain’s campaign.
Fast-forward to yesterday, October 20. Take a look at the callous fashion in which the McCain campaign removed a flag after a (sparsely attended) rally in St. Charles, Missouri:
That’s not exactly “showing respect” for the flag, is it?

Well, the local news has acquitted the Daily Kos report, with undeniable video evidence to boot. Two highway patrollman are seen walking casually by as the enormous flag is dragged through the dirt by the heavy equipment, apparenlty unconcerned by the implication of this otherwise totally unimportant and meaningless incident. The flag was burned by some disgrungtled citizen with a bone to pick? Who cares? The Boy Scouts forgot to get the flag down and out of a rainstorm? Oh well… A heavy machine happens to drag an outsized flag through some dirt post campaign event? Get over it. It’s a non-event, and has nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats being patriotic or not. It just happened, and those highway patrollmen didn’t seem to think there was much ado.

We’re going to win this election because we’re on the side of the overwhelming number of Americans that are ready for C H A N G E, and are ready for a young, vibrant N E W leader who is ready to restore our confidence in the promise of the U.S.A.

We’re already on our knees, brought down here by misleadership and bad direction of the last 8 presidential years, but also the last 30 years of misguided and now inarguably destructive Reaganomics. We’re on our knees praying that the stupid among us, that cling to ridiculous messages of fear and hate, will be overwhelmed at the polls or simply not bother to resist the positive C H A N G E that is coming. Americans are putting country first by rejecting the politics of fear, hate and cynicism, and moving in large waves toward the type of leadership that is desired at this time in our history. Put country first, and vote for change.
