And they said it couldn’t be done — Obama wins!!!

Barack Obama will be America’s 44th President. It’s been an amazing ride.

It seems so long ago that we were knocking on doors in the snow in Iowa.

To CWEguy, Flyover, Turd Furgeson, and the PUMAs that have struggled mightily to derail the will of a changing America, I’ll just say the fight waged to the end too often got needlessly ugly, but ended with the best possible result. This nation will heal because of our emergence from the darkest days of last 8 years, and you can look forward to your party rebuilding itself after the rest of us have rejected what it has become. Congratulations to Davids Axelrod and Plouffe, and to the candidate they served, and to all those that believed, worked on behalf of, and endured the last two years of bitter division. It’s over. Thank God.

No coat-tails in MO. Mostly statewide wins for Dems, but not for Obama. That is something worth studying. Hmmm.

John,

Barack Obama will be my President on January 20. I pray he will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution well.

And, I agree with you–thank God it is over.

You got what you asked for. However, I don’t believe you got what you wanted.

With Jay Nixon running so far ahead of Obama—you can damned well count on Slay needing to figure out how to deal with a democrat in Jefferson City. Given the failures of some of his Sinquefield-soaked cronies—it might be tricky. He won’t be able to just call up Nixon and say—hey—help me disenfranchise my voters.

Hallelujah. Now the real work begins.

Nice splash page!

Dude, I’m sorry if I wasn’t eloquent enough in my posts, but I never said I was a Republican. Your assuming I am tells me a lot. Thanks.

I still think the disillusionment will be a thing of beauty, though ;)

I’m not expecting anything unrealistic. You shouldn’t think there’s some startling jack in the box that will eventually pop up and shout “Surprise!” The level-headedness and calm delivery by Obama is what impresses me, and I’m not so pollyanna as to believe that flowery oratory, sweeping campaign promises or any other fleeting television advertising is a substitute for actual performance. Many have become infatuated with Obama for silly or vain reasons, but I can assure you that I began observing the election process two years ago as open as you seemingly think you are. There will be no disillusionment, and I hope that won’t, in the end, disappoint you.

Why do you think I am a republican?
If there is no disillusionment, I would hope it is because he is genuinely doing the right thing for the right reasons, not simply more propaganda. Also, can you define “open”?

I didn’t actually label anyone on this blog a republican, though I did say “your party”, generally meaning anyone who most likely voted with the party that opposed Obama. While you may not be a member of the republican party, your catalog of comments on the subject of Obama and the election place you within the 46.3% of this country that voted against Obama. I would define ‘open’ as someone keen, objective and judicious enough to assess a candidate’s qualification to work for votes, and not ‘in the bag’ or puking up a stomach overfilled with the proverbial Obama/McCain Kool-Aid.

Well, then we agree on open.
I opposed both candidates. While for multiple reasons (propaganda, disagreement, etc) I opposed “NObama”, I also opposed “McSame”. I did however place my full support behind a one so-called “spoiler”. ;)

No hard feelings dude. I think we all just need to chill out. The election is over (finally), now we’ll just wait and see what happens.

Until the mayors race, of course. Vaaaassstttlllyy more important. :)

I will vote against the Mayor.
