Wow, Antonio, are you already under contract for Slay? It’s been a long time since 2001 folks. Constantly bringing this up certainly does not do any bit of good for the people who oppose him.
On the other hand, lets hope someone else comes along to take this bastard on. If not, EVERYBODY, I mean EVERYBODY in this city who has a grievance against Slay MUST come out IN FORCE for Smith. School people. Sherman George people. Redistricting People. Racial Tension People. Charter Reform People. Mokwa and Police People. Firefighter people. Nepotism people. Forest Park People. Eminent Domain People. TIF people.
EVERYONE.
I for one believe that EVEN IF Smith is the only one to take on Slay, it can be done. Slay won last time with what, 65%? In a two way race, that would take a 15% swing. It can be done. Lets hope that Favazza, Coleman, etc are reading this.
Turd, let me put this as clear as I possibly can: Irene Smith is not a serious candidate. Her presence in the race not only makes it more difficult for a serious challenger to win against Slay, but makes it less likely one will enter the race.
In a recent meeting among potential challengers, Smith made it very clear she’s running no matter what — even if a top-tier candidate jumped in. If that truly turns out to be the case, you may need to ask Irene who she’s working for, because the small fraction of the vote that she might possibly draw is only enough to ensure Slay will win a third term.
I admit, I feel you there. Sorry if I went a little over, I was just pissed at the whole situation. Now I hear Coleman is close to filing. This puts me in a whole ‘nuther mood.
I wonder if there is a serious mayoral candidate??? folks seem to be scared to death of slay…what kinda crap is that…if Irene has the balls to run…then why shouldn’t she, no one else seems to have the balls…
People need to knock Slay out in the primary by voting for Smith. She is a capable woman in her own right; today she called for Nixon to remove the police board members appointed by Blunt.
I agree that Smith is capable. Her experience is unparalleled among recent candidates for public office in the City of St. Louis.
In the next few weeks, I expect that voters will see a strong contrast between Smith’s aggressive policy positions for the future and Slay’s incrementalism couched in discussions of the past.
Sweet jeebsus, Freeman Bosley is a clown in this video! No wonder Slay has Bosley carrying his water to the north side aldermen. This same Bosley who fought the redistricting like this and in 2009 has heartily endorsed the architects off the racist redistricting, Francis Slay. What a fool. He will get his at the ballot box this year.
What a bunch of idiots the north side has representing it on the Board of Aldermen. Shouting “Go PEE! Go PEE!” over and over shows they are not fit to serve in a civilized environment. St. Louis is not the racially divided city everyone seems to want to portray it as. Before Slay, we had two black mayors, Clarence Harmon and Freeman Bosley Jr., and they pulled support from across the city, not just the north side. Northsiders, you need to demand a little better from your so-called representatives at City Hall.

Hmm, well if you put it like that…

I’ll gladly eat my words on this one..

Didn’t Reed use this video (and Irene) to smear Shrewsbury in 2007?
Now it serves to smear Smith (who deserves it, but no less than that shyster Lewis Reed).
