Aldermen head to KC to save the Earnings tax

A group of St. Louis aldermen are in Kansas City today meeting with their cross-state counterparts to discuss ways to fight the attempt by local millionaire Rex Sinquefield to get Missouri voters to outlaw the earnings tax, which for St. Louis City represents a third of the already cash-strapped city’s budget.

The list of aldermen who made the trip to Kansas City includes Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Steve Conway (8th Ward), Jennifer Florida (15th Ward), Charles Quincy Troupe (1st Ward), Shane Cohn (25th Ward), Jeffrey Boyd (22nd Ward), Joe Vaccaro (23rd Ward), and Stephen Gregali (14th Ward).
