As the House seeks to take up a second vote on the $700 billion mortgage bailout plan, now is probably a good time to reflect. Good ol’ Ed Martin was saying it way back in April: no way should taxpayers rescue Wall Street.
The PubDef conservative commentator and former Matt Blunt chief of staff was among the first to say “hell no” to any bailout of Wall Street firms and their overreaching CEOs.
